Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

Here is the information on the two homes in the neighborhood that I have recently sold. #1 I sold this house 2 years ago to the Craig's they decided to Sell and by word of mouth to one coworker the house sold, the Craigs asked me to oversee and write the contract for a fee. I agreed and since I sell primarly in capitol View this sign is advertisement, please if your wanting to move to this area contact me I usually have a heads up on what is coming on the market, I have lived in this neighborhood and sold in it for over 7 years. #2 No scam going on just pure and simple I know my neighbors, I love the neighborhood, and I get highest dollar possible for our homes I advocate for the historical homes.

Shouldn't be long now! Circle park is looking great and sure the landscape will go in soon, although I have to admit I love the street being closed wouldn't mind at all if we could keep those signs HAHAHA! I'm going to be checking into the signage that the Edmond Historical Muesum recently added to the front of the muesum, how cool would it be to have one of those in your yard with a banner saying something like Edmonds Historical Capitol View and then your address, of course each homeowner would have to purchase their own but I think it would look great and add more value to our homes. I will post soon on what I find out.

The Circle is finally back!

The machine that did this circle was amazing, can you imagine how long this would have taken if done by hand the old fashion way? This took a couple of hours via this machine that looked sorta like a tractor but it followed the strings set up the concrete went into the machine and came out in perfect form that is just astonishing to me how could someone think up that kinda thing?

A Little Adverstisement

I decided it was time to get in a little advertisement for myself. I have sold more homes in the Capitol View neighborhood then any other realtor, mainly because I live here and love it here so I'm a great advocate for the homes and getting the highest possible price for our unique and rare homes in the Edmond area. Over the last 8 years we have seen some of our homes values hit $115 a foot amazing! I think Circle Park and other improvements happening in our area are a huge boost for getting more value for our homes. I Love Living here, I Love how diverse our neighborhood is, how close we are to everything and most of all how every ones home is different then the same old cookie cutter neighborhoods! Let me know if I can assist you an any way with Real Estate.

Gravel Friday's work

Wow a lot seemed to get accomplished in just one week well more like four days, Tuesday-Friday and Tuesday was a short day because of all the rain the night before. I bet this week a lot more is done and we will really begin to see the form of Circle Park, Meanwhile we are enjoying the quiet street no traffic it is almost weird not to here cars going by at night we could only dream of this before. But traffic isn't a bad trade off for living in the best neighborhood in Edmond!

Day 4 Thursday 2/12/09

Moving dirt or Mud...

Many old, and I mean very old water lines were dug up today, thank goodness nobody's water was affected. They seem to be working fast as the dirt was getting moved and leveled into the position they want it for the forms. Looks like from the plans and what they told me is a ten foot circle in the middle of the intersection lined with stamped stain concrete to look like brick around the outer circle a light post that of the same that lines second street and estensive "fancy" landscape inside the circle. Apparently the plans call for Yield signs at each side but kinda think that might be a problem, I think there should be stop signs we will see.. At any rate this is going to slow the traffic down and just that makes me excited not to mention the amount of students that are finding new routes as our streets are closed hopefully will not return to this route. I guess we will see.

The Plans

I was able to get a sneak peak this morning of the plans!! Here they are.

Day 3 the calm after the storm

Pretty quiet today, probally has something to do with how much of a muddy mess it is. I watched out my window this morning at the three men trying to get the huge pump started to pump out all the water it was pretty funny I should have video taped it. Took awhile needless to say, then some men shoveled for awhile and now it's just very quiet.

Concrete?

Wow that is alot of Concrete! The house was rocking for awhile as the big machine broke up the street, our 3 year old is in heaven bob the builder is in our front yard, no need for a tv for the next few months as watching the trucks and tractors keep him entertained.

Construction Begins

How Exciting!!!!!!

Circle Park Has finally began to be put back!

Wow 6 long years of dreaming planning and visualizing what it would be like to have our street restored to it's orginal beauty! It was a little over six years when my husband Randy and I were taking a walk in the neighborhood and I said to him,"What was here at one time, look at this intersection how different it is, something neat was here." After researching and planning and Leroy Cartwright was able to locate an orginal photograph of the orginal circle park, I put together a proposal to the City to reinstate "Our" Circle Park. History in the making. I'm so very excited for our neighborhood and it's values to8 continue raising even in these economic times. We have a small but beautiful piece of Edmonds History and we all should be very proud to live here. Not only is Circle Park going to be beautiful hopefully it will slow everyone down. Please post comments, ideas, views anything on this blogsite created for the neighborhood.
